We are located in the beating heart of the Irish Quarter; Digbeth – an area still thriving with pubs and venues old and new. An area ran by independent operators, where you are guaranteed to receive a warm welcome, a cracking night out, and good old fashioned hospitality.
When it comes to pubs, the Irish do it best, and at The Anchor we’re proud of our Irish heritage. The Anchor is under the new stewardship of Peter Connolly, while the building itself is still owned by Gerrard Keane. Two Irish families with a history of hospitality, heritage and community.

Yes, we are relatively step free entry on our corner entrance, and staff are always happy to help anyone with mobility issues. We have an accessible WC in our back room.
Yes absolutely, we love our furry little friends, bring in your dog, we’ll look after them and no doubt take a snap or two for our socials!
Our sister pub Nortons has rakes of live music, it’s honestly wall to wall, back to back, live music non stop! So with that being said, for now The Anchor for us is just a good pub. Somewhere where you can have a pint and relax.
We do! We sell authentic pub cobs, Taytos crisps, two types of pork scratching and traditional Irish beef and Guinness stew.
